VG CoLAB highlighted at Jornal de Notícias

We had the honour today of having our work featured in Jornal de Notícias, where we discussed the future of sodium-ion batteries and the potential of our country in this field.

At Vasco da Gama CoLAB, we are committed to promoting sustainability and efficiency in energy storage solutions, leveraging resources such as sodium, which has proven to be a promising alternative to lithium.

As Jorge Pinto mentioned:

‘It's a safer battery because it can be fully discharged and is less likely to catch fire,’ adds the innovation leader. On the other hand, sodium is a heavier element than lithium and one of the next challenges is to ‘increase the lifespan’ of these batteries, which ‘lack technological maturity’. But Jorge Pinto points out that ‘lithium will not cease to have a place’. They will be ‘complementary materials’.

We continue to work towards scaling this technology and bringing it to the industry, always focusing on innovation and sustainability.

We thank Jornal de Notícias and Rita Neves Costa for recognising and sharing our efforts. 🌍🔋
